Marrakech - Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans abroad, Nasser Bourita, held talks Sunday in Marrakech with his Portuguese counterpart, Augusto Santos Silva. These talks took place on the eve of the 8th Ministerial Conference on Migration and Development (5 + 5 Dialogue) held in Marrakech.
Talks focused on the preparations for the Morocco-Portugal high-level meeting to be held this year in Lisbon, Silva told reporters following the meeting. This meeting will touch on bilateral economic relations, he said, adding that a bilateral agreement on migration and movement of seasonal workers may be inked on this occasion.
The high-level meeting will also touch on Portuguese-Moroccan cooperation projects in Africa as well as other projects related to the electrical interconnection between the two countries. These talks were also an opportunity to "discuss the latest developments in West Africa, particularly in Guinea-Bissau," he added.
The 8th Ministerial Conference on Migration and Development (5 + 5 Dialogue) is aimed at initiating a consensual approach to migration issues.
