Abdelhadi Lahouij commends, in Rabat, the Skhirat Agreement, the efforts made by Morocco to resolve the Libyan crisis.
In a press statement, following a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, on the latest developments of the Libyan situation, Mr. Lahouij expressed his high appreciation to the efforts made by “the Kingdom of Morocco: Sovereign, people and government”, towards the resolution of the Libyan crisis on the basis of national cohesion, provided for in the Skhirat Political Agreement.
The Libyan official also highlighted the geographic and historical ties that link the two countries to the Maghreb space. He also expressed the interest of the Libyan parliament to draw inspiration from the experience of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission (IER), in view of “building a new Libya for all Libyans without exception, as well as the rule of law, institutions and citizenship”.
The Libyan official also deplored the current situation in his country, emphasizing the urgent need to move towards a lasting and viable solution to the Libyan crisis.
Abdelhadi Lahouij, in this regard, expressed his support for "the Maghreb approach in the resolution of the Libyan crisis, the only one, according to him, capable of achieving a lasting solution".
