
During a meeting of the AU Peace and Security Council dedicated to the epidemics of Ebola and Coronavirus, Morocco stressed the need of a collective and urgent action of Africa, through the sharing of experiences between African countries, emphasizing in this regard the major role of Africa CDC.
Morocco’s Permanent Representative to the AU and UNECA, ambassador Mohamed Arrouchi, warned against the consequences of these epidemics on the economies of African countries. The Moroccan diplomat stressed the need to bring together African experts and decision-makers to finalize the African strategy on the prevention and the fight against the epidemic of Coronavirus.
Arrouchi called for the setting up of a special fund dedicated to preventing and combating these epidemics. For his part, the Director of CDC-Africa recalled the important efforts underway for the preparation of a global African strategy, highlighting the contribution of Moroccan experts and professors in the development of this strategy.
