Brazil Calls for Ensuring Unhindered Movement and Trade Flow in El Guerguerat
Wednesday 18 November 2020
Brasilia - Brazil called for unhindered movement and trade flow through the El Guerguerat crossing.
"The Brazilian Government is following with concern the development of events in the buffer zone" over the past days in the Moroccan Sahara, said the Brazilian ministry of External Relations in a statement, issued on Wednesday.
"To ensure peace and prosperity in the region, Brazil hopes that movement and trade flow at the El Guerguerat border post will be guaranteed without hindrance," the statement added.
"By reiterating its support for the ongoing process within the United Nations to reach a just and mutually acceptable solution, the Brazilian Government rejects the use of violence and calls for the respect of the ceasefire in force since 1991", underlined the Brazilian ministry.
