Colombia Supports Morocco's Position to Achieve Solution to Sahara Issue

Rabat- Colombian Deputy Minister for Multilateral Affairs, Adriana Mejia Hernandez, reiterated Thursday in Rabat, her country's support for Morocco's position in order to achieve a solution to the Sahara issue which constitutes for the Kingdom a vital issue for "its sovereignty and its territorial integrity". Mejia, who co-chaired with the Ambassador, Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans abroad, Fouad Yazough, the second joint Moroccan-Colombian commission for technical and scientific cooperation, expressed the "unwavering support" of her country to Morocco.
The Colombian official underlined the importance that Morocco represents for Colombia, as a strategic partner and a gateway to the African continent and the Arab world, which is reflected by the dynamism of bilateral relations and by the political decision to upgrade the status of its diplomatic representation in Rabat. She also highlighted the political vision shared by the two governments in several fundamental issues, testifying to good relations and a common vision regarding global issues.
The meeting was marked by the approval of a bilateral cooperation program between the two countries for the period 2020-2022.
