Defined by HM the King, MFA Nasser Bourita Outlines Five Variables of Morocco's Position on Middle East, Gaza Situation
Speaking at the 162nd session of the Council of the Arab League at ministerial level, Bourita said that these five principles were the basis of the Arab League's strategy. He specified that these five parameters concern support for constructive initiatives aimed at finding practical solutions for the conclusion of a concrete and durable ceasefire and the recovery of the humanitarian situation, stepping away from the logic of crisis management in favor of the search for a definitive solution to this conflict, as well as ending hostilities in Gaza as an urgent priority, to be accomplished in parallel with opening up a political horizon likely to establish just and lasting peace in the region.
It is also a matter of using negotiations to resuscitate the peace process between the Palestinian and Israeli parties and to establish security and stability in the region, provided that this momentum falls within the framework of the Two-State Solution, under the terms of which Gaza is an integral part of the territories of the independent Palestinian State, with Al-Quds East as its capital, he stressed.
The Minister also reaffirmed Morocco's commitment, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, to laudable efforts aimed at promoting the political process to achieve stability and peace in Arab countries still plagued by political crises, wars and conflicts, by promoting dialogue and peaceful initiatives, far from force and military solutions.
Bourita further emphasized Morocco's commitment to the principles of good neighborliness, the preservation of the national sovereignty of Arab countries and non-interference in their internal affairs, as well as the Kingdom's efforts to transcend short-term disputes, artificial conflicts and sectarianism.
