Inter-Libyan Dialogue in Bouznika: Spain Lauds Morocco's Initiative
Friday 09 October 2020
Madrid, (MOFA) - The Spanish government lauded on Friday Morocco's initiative to strengthen dialogue between the various Libyan parties to achieve a political solution to the conflict in that country.
"Spain welcomes initiatives aimed at strengthening the inter-Libyan dialogue, such as the Moroccan initiative, which contribute to the efforts of the United Nations" to reach a political solution to this conflict, sources from the Spanish Foreign Affairs Ministry said.
For the Spanish government, "the solution to the Libyan conflict must be political and the definition of this solution belongs exclusively to the Libyans themselves" within the framework sponsored by the United Nations, the same source told.
The solution of the Libyan conflict is "fundamental for the stability of the Mediterranean and the Sahel", it added.
