Inter-Libyan Dialogue: Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee at Italian Chamber of Deputies Hails Morocco's efforts
"The launch in Bouznika, under the sponsorship of Morocco and with the agreement of the United Nations, of talks between the representatives of the government of Tripoli and the Parliamentary Assembly of Tobruk is an important step forward in fostering the ceasefire and starting a process with a view to a political solution to the Libyan crisis," said Piero Fassino, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the Italian Chamber of Deputies.
"The Bouznika talks constitute a precious opportunity which must be seized and supported by all those who pursue, like Italy and the European Union, the objective of a political solution guaranteeing peace, stability and security for Libya and the Mediterranean," Fassino added in a statement.
The sessions of the Libyan dialogue between the delegations of the High Council of State and the Parliament of Tobruk, which started Sunday and aims to maintain the ceasefire and to open negotiations to end the conflict between the Libyan parties, continued Tuesday in Bouznika. At the end of the first day, the two delegations expressed their sincere ambition to reach a consensus that will help Libya and end the suffering of the Libyan people.
They also welcomed the sincere will and the concern of Morocco to create the appropriate fraternal climate helping to find a solution to the Libyan crisis, in order to reach a solution likely to achieve the political and economic stability of the country and move towards building a strong and stable state.
