Inter-Libyan Dialogue: Paris Highlights Morocco's 'Important Contribution" to Steps Taken by UN
"Morocco's commitment is an important contribution to the steps taken by the United Nations for a resumption of the inter-Libyan political dialogue," said the spokeswoman of the French Foreign ministry.
"France welcomes the continued efforts of the Kingdom of Morocco to relaunch the political process in Libya through efforts to facilitate dialogue between the House of Representatives and the High Council of State in Bouznika," the spokeswoman said, quoted in a statement.
Initiatives for inclusive political discussions in Libya, particularly those of countries in the region, are essential for a way out of the crisis, she added.
For France, "there is no military solution to the Libyan conflict: the solution will be political and will require a commitment from the countries in Libya's neighborhood," the same source stressed, pointing out that "these countries are the first concerned by the risks that the Libyan crisis poses to regional security and stability".
"Their role with the Libyan actors is therefore indispensable and can play a stabilizing role, contrary to the interference of external powers," concluded the spokeswoman of the French Foreign ministry.
