
1- The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, received the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Mr. Igli Hasani for an official visit on March 2025.
2- During their meeting, the two Ministers praised the excellent relations between Albania and Morocco, and reiterated their shared desire to further strengthen them. They also reaffirmed their commitment to increase economic, trade and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
3- Mr. Igli Hasani praised the far-reaching reforms undertaken over the past two decades under the leadership of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI and the renewed efforts for political, economic, and social development of Morocco, and welcomed Morocco's New Development Model.
4- Albania and Morocco emphasized their staunch commitment to maintaining and strengthening peace, stability, and security globally and in their respective regions, as well as to the peaceful resolution of conflicts and respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of States.
5- Albania highlighted and commended Morocco's role as a regional pole of stability and as relay for growth and development in Africa.
On its part, in line with the new realities, Morocco acknowledges that the transformations in the Western Balkans region, in accordance with applicable international law, have significantly contributed to strengthening peace and stability. Morocco commends role of Albania in promoting good neighborly relations.
6- Albania follows with great interest the Atlantic initiatives launched by His Majesty King Mohamed VI towards the African continent, in particular the International Initiative of His Majesty The King, of November 6, 2023 aimed at favouring the access of Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean.
7- The Ministers reaffirmed their support for the political process led by the United Nations and the efforts of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the western Sahara, Mr. Staffan De Mistura, to reach a peaceful and mutually acceptable solution to the conflict, in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council, notably the Resolution 2756 (2024).
In this context, Albania recognizes the importance of the western Sahara issue for Morocco as well as the serious and-credible-efforts of Morocco within the framework of the United Nations to find a mutually acceptable solution.
In this regard, Albania considers the Moroccan autonomy initiative, presented in 2007, a serious and credible foundation for the resolution of this regional dispute.
8- Mr. Bourita welcomes Albania's efforts to join the European Union and the comprehensive transformative reforms undertaken by the Albanian Government towards future membership.
9- To enhance tourism, people-to-people exchanges, and strengthen bilateral relations, Morocco has decided to lift visa requirements for Albanian citizens traveling for short stays and commits to finalize the procedures for implementing this exemption
10- The two Ministers pledged to pursue consultation and coordination within international organizations and bodies.
