In a statement published on November 16, the Kingdom of Eswatini reiterated its recognition of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco over all its territory and the right of its Government to restore and ensure the free movement of people and goods in the buffer zone of El Guergarat.
The Kingdom of Eswatini, which affirmed to follow very closely the developments in El Guergarat, following the incursion of the "polisario" in this zone, recalled the repeated calls of the United Nations not to obstruct the commercial and civil circulation, stressing that no action should be taken to alter the status quo as agreed in the negotiated ceasefire agreement.
In this statement, the Kingdom of Eswatini thus called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations to "accelerate the appointment of his personal envoy in order to give impetus to the peace process in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council".
