"For Morocco, the resolution of the Libyan crisis should be done by the Libyans and for the Libyans," M.Bourita said in a statement to the press at the end of the opening session of the 33rd African Union (AU) Summit.
Any solution from outside will have no chance of succeeding, M.Bourita said, noting that such a solution must come from a dialogue among the Libyans themselves.
According to the minister, the United Nations must be the framework for the search for this solution through the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
He also stressed that the Skhirat agreement of 2015 has shown that the Libyans are capable of finding a solution to the crisis affecting their country.
"Skhirat was not an international conference to find a solution to the Libyan crisis but a framework for dialogue among Libyans," he said, underlining that Skhirat showed that Libyans, if they find the necessary space and support, can overcome their differences and produce Libyan solutions to Libyan problems.
