Rabat - (MOFA)-The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita met, Wednesday, February 12, 2020, with the President of the Latin American Parliament Jorge Pizarro Soto who’s visiting the Kingdom.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Jorge Pizarro stressed that the Latin American Parliament supports the efforts of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in the search for a just, realistic, pragmatic, lasting and mutually acceptable solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue.
The Kingdom's relations with several member states of the Parlatino are a relevant example of the successful cooperation and consultation, which the Kingdom wants to deepen further by implementing concrete actions at the economic and social levels, within the framework of South-South cooperation and in a win-win spirit.
Earlier in the day, the Latin American MP had a working session with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Habib El Malki and the Speaker of the House of Councilors, Hakim Benchamach, to discuss the launch of an Africa-Latin America Parliamentary forum.
This platform will provide a forum for the exchange of experiences and information in support of the promotion of democracy, governance and cooperation towards the development and integration of Africa and Latin America.
