Credible and serious media are more than ever necessary to carry Africa's concerns and ambitions, Bourita stressed at a meeting with members of the network of African women journalists, "The Pan-African Women".
The minister also welcomed the evolution of the network since its inception in 2017, noting that Africa needs women who are committed to raising awareness of the continent's challenges.
"Africa needs you," he told the women journalists present at the meeting, describing as "relevant" the initiative to create this network which will hold on 6-7 March 2020 in Casablanca the 3rd edition of its forum on the theme of climate change and its impact on the continent.
Tackling this theme, Bourita said that addressing climate change is fundamental to Africa's development and security.
In this regard, the minister highlighted Morocco's contribution to the international effort to combat climate change, recalling that HM King Mohammed VI, then Crown Prince, attended the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio.
He also recalled the clear royal vision relating to the fight against climate change at the national, African and international levels.
