In response to a journalist's question on the subject, during a press briefing following his talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration of the Republic of Cabo Verde, MFA Bourita stressed that Morocco exerts full sovereignty over its Southern provinces, as it does over its entire national territory.
The Kingdom, including its Southern provinces, welcomes millions of tourists every year, in addition to officials and official delegations, he continued, citing the example of the visit of the Speaker of the French Senate to Laayoune on Monday, as well as the many visits made by businessmen and international officials to the Kingdom.
As in other countries worldwide, all visits to Morocco, whether official, touristic or for specific missions, are subject to clear organizational procedures within a regulated framework, in accordance with the laws in force, he underlined.
The Minister also pointed out that anyone who respects these rules is welcome, adding that the law applies to those who try to break them, as is the case in other countries. He noted that such attempts have no impact on Morocco, which exerts full sovereignty over its Southern provinces, as it does over the rest of its national territory.
