MFA NASSER BOURITA HOLDS TALKS WITH ECOWAS PARLIAMENT SPEAKER
“Morocco's membership in this regional grouping is the best thing for all of us”, Mr. Tunis told the press following his meeting with MFA Nasser Bourita.
He also indicated "we will look at in general how to work towards Morocco's full membership in ECOWAS, because we firmly believe that it is the best thing for all of us”.
"We are looking at strategies, opportunities and possibly constraints [...] but for now, my colleagues and I are very positive about this," stressed the Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, who is leading a delegation on a visit to Morocco, adding that with the "leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, we should all work to achieve this particular goal”.
Noting that relations between Morocco and this regional organization are experiencing a "new beginning", Mr. Tunis assured that West African MPs "bring fruitful results to ensure that Morocco sits as a full member”.
Sidie Mohamed Tunis is in Morocco to participate in the 6th edition of the Parliamentary Forum on Social Justice organized under the theme "Social Dialogue and Challenges of the Social State", at the initiative of the House of Advisors (Moroccan parliament's upper house) in partnership with the Economic, Social and Environmental Council.
