In a press conference following talks with Mr. Kofod, Mr. Bourita highlighted the excellence of relations between Morocco and Denmark and the positive dynamics they are experiencing both bilaterally and multilaterally.
Mr. Bourita noted that the political dialogue, developed in recent years around several common issues, has been fruitful. In this sense, the two ministers agreed to further strengthen trade, to make it a central aspect of relations between the two countries, particularly as Danish investments in Morocco have recorded a positive development.
The two officials also emphasized the mutual support each other’s candidacy within international bodies, in particular at the level of the UN Security Council.
Talks also touched on the Moroccan experience in the fight against terrorism and extremism in accordance with the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, said MrBourita, noting that discussions focused on religious, economic and security aspects, as well as on the means to coordinate at the regional and international levels to fight against this scourge.
Mr. Kofod praised Morocco's exemplary management of the Covid-19 pandemic, expressing his country's willingness to support Morocco in the post-covid phase.
Recognizing Morocco's leadership in the areas of climate and ecological transformations, the Danish minister welcomed the excellent cooperation developed between the two countries in the field of sustainable development.
Regarding migration, Mr. Kofod praised Morocco's important role and affirmed his country's willingness to support the Kingdom's efforts in this field, which is also a priority for Denmark.
