MFA Nasser Bourita holds talks with his Liberian counterpart
The two ministers welcomed the positive dynamics that marked the bilateral relations in recent years, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Brother President George Weah.
Mr. Bourita and Mr. Saah Kemayah signed a cooperation roadmap covering the fields of education, training, technical cooperation, economic promotion and investments, providing for an exchange of official visits in the futur.
The meeting made it possible to translate into reality the ambition of the two Heads of State to promote the relations between the two countries through the signed roadmap, which covers several sectors.
As part of this new roadmap, the two ministers agreed to hold the third session of the Mixed Commission in the coming months in order to assess previous actions and identify the priorities to be implemented.
The two parties also signed a cooperation agreement regarding the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons between the Republic of Liberia and the Kingdom of Morocco.
Mr. Bourita reiterated Morocco's appreciation of Liberia's clear and constant position regarding the Kingdom’s territorial integrity and the Moroccan Sahara. A support translated into reality by the opening of a Consulate General of Liberia in Dakhla, in March 2020.
Mr. Saah Kemayah stressed the need to promote economic cooperation and develop trade between Liberia and Morocco, by encouraging economic operators and investors of both sides to explore the opportunities presented by these two growing markets.
The Liberian minister welcomed Morocco's support for the "Liberia Vision 2030" plan which aims to promote socio-economic development in Liberia.
