The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, held talks on March 30, 2022 in Rabat, with the Republic of Sudan’s acting Foreign Minister, Mr. Ali Al-Sadiq Ali.

In a statement to the press after the meeting, Al-Sadiq said that his talks with MFA Bourita were an opportunity to highlight the excellent level of relations between Morocco and Sudan in various areas, and to emphasize the need to work together to raise them to higher levels in the interests of both countries and peoples.

In this regard, the head of Sudanese diplomacy stressed the importance of continued communication and coordination between Morocco and Sudan on all current issues, both at the level of the African continent and the Arab League as well as internationally, in order to achieve a convergence of positions of the two countries in regional and international fora.

During this meeting, added Al-Sadiq, many issues concerning the Sahel-Saharan region were also discussed, at a time when Rabat hosts, for two days (March 29 and 30), the work of the 21st ordinary session of the Executive Council of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD).

The 21st ordinary session of the Executive Council of CEN-SAD is being held following the decision taken by the Extraordinary Summit (April 13, 2019 in N'Djamena), and is attended by Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Member States to discuss various issues aimed at revitalizing this regional grouping.
