MFA Nasser Bourita Holds Talks with Omani Peer
During this meeting, MFA Bourita and Mr. Al Busaidi took stock of relations between the two brotherly countries in various fields, which have achieved positive momentum since the 5th joint commission that the two ministers chaired in January 2019 in Muscat.
The two parties also expressed their willingness to hold the next joint commission in Morocco, as soon as the health situation related to the pandemic of the novel coronavirus improves.
Several topical Arab and regional issues were discussed during the talks, on which a convergence of views emerged, the statement said, noting that the two ministers stressed the vision shared by Morocco and the Sultanate of Oman on the pre-eminence of dialogue and understanding to resolve conflicts in the Arab region, so as to ensure security, stability and territorial integrity of the countries far from any division or separatism.
On this occasion, MFA Bourita commended the constant stance of the Sultanate of Oman supporting Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara and the unity of its territories, as well as the measures taken by the Kingdom to defend its security and sovereignty.
He also highlighted the Sultanate's continued leading role in the region, thanks to the leadership of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, as well as his efforts to bridge differences in many regional and international issues.
Mr. Al Busaidi praised the wise policy of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and his pioneering role in defending Arab and Islamic issues, notably the Palestinian cause and Al-Quds Acharif, as a land of coexistence between monotheistic religions.
