MFA Nasser Bourita Holds Talks with Portuguese Counterpart
During this meeting, which is part of the permanent and regular contacts between the two countries, the two ministers praised the excellent relations between Morocco and Portugal.
They also agreed to prepare the next steps of the bilateral agenda, with a view to holding the High-Level Meeting and the establishment of a strategic partnership between the two countries.
Both FMs stressed the importance of strengthening the dynamics of bilateral cooperation and adapting it to new requirements imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic by capitalizing on the development of new value chains and exploration of innovative areas of cooperation.
The Portuguese minister welcomed the success of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign conducted in Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Mr. Santos Silva stressed the active role of Morocco in the process of integration and cooperation in the Mediterranean, reiterating support for the Strategic Partnership between Morocco and the EU, whose presidency is held by Portugal.
The two ministers stressed the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation to contribute to the settlement and resolution of several regional issues, including Libya, the Sahel and other regions of Africa. They reaffirmed the importance of continuing the dialogue between the two countries at the multilateral level and within international forums.
