MFA Nasser Bourita Inaugurates Exhibition in Arab League Headquarters on Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency's Action
The opening ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of the Arab League, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Palestinian Foreign Minister, Mr. Riyad Al-Maliki, and several diplomats at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.
The event's organization aligns with the Agency's mission to support the essential social sectors and inhabitants of the Holy City, as well as the Al-Quds institutions. This aligns with HM the King's High Directives, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, particularly given the Palestinian cause's high priority for discussion by Arab foreign ministers at this session chaired by Morocco.
The exhibition's components showcase the practical approach of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairperson of the Al-Quds Committee. The exhibition combines the political aspect, with Moroccan diplomacy's significant efforts to support the Palestinian position on all fronts, and the social aspect, with the fundamental role of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency. The agency supports the Holy City and its residents while being supervised directly by His Majesty the King.
The exhibition has a section devoted to the important dates in the history of the Al-Quds Committee, and another on the evaluation of 25 years of action by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency. This section is enriched with photographs and statistics on the projects executed (200 major undertakings and dozens of small and medium-sized ones, at an overall cost of $64 million).
The third section of the exhibit displays the Agency's publications on Al-Quds, emphasizing its religious and cultural significance as well as Moroccans' historical connection to this sacred city. Additionally, a section is designated to showcase the merchandise from affiliated associations and institutions in Al-Quds.
The section displaying Palestinian arts and culture showcases a range of handicrafts from Al-Quds, which includes traditional clothing, textiles, jewelry, woodwork, ceramics, decorative items and other works crafted by Palestinian artisan masters.
