MFA Nasser Bourita receives the German Minister of Interior and Community
At a press briefing following this meeting, Ms. Nancy Faeser expressed that the Kingdom of Morocco and the Federal Republic of Germany share several common interests and challenges, which require more strong and in-depth cooperation.
The German minister underlined the importance of pooling efforts to further consolidate bilateral cooperation in different areas.
The two countries share several issues of common interest, including security and the fight against organized crime, human trafficking and terrorism, as well as similar challenges, she noted.
Ms. Faeser also emphasized on migration, given that Germany and Morocco are considered not only emigration but also transit countries, noting that cooperation in this area will undoubtedly have "very positive and fruitful results" for both countries.
In this respect, the minister said that Germany aims to establish a bilateral agreement with the Kingdom concerning the migration issue, to further deepen cooperation between the two countries in this area.
Ms. Faeser also welcomed the signing of a joint declaration of intent between the Interior Ministries of the two countries, aimed at strengthening cooperation in various areas, including security and migration.
