Morocco and Colombia Ink Four Bilateral Agreements
Initialed by Moroccan and Colombian Foreign Ministers, the first agreement on air services aims to gradually implement the reciprocal opening of air markets of both countries and includes provisions on granting traffic rights, operating licenses for airlines, fees and customs duties, commercial representation of companies, tariffs, and revenue transfers.
The second agreement provides for waiving the visa requirement for short stays (90 days) for nationals holding ordinary and diplomatic passports. Two memoranda of understanding were signed on the occasion.
The first MoU, inked by MFA Bourita and Blum, touches on cooperation in the fight against the global drug problem to foster cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking as well as coordination between the competent authorities of both countries.
The second MoU, signed by Ambassador-Director of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI) Mohamed Methqal and the head of the Presidential Agency for International Cooperation of Colombia (APC-COLOMBIA) Ángela Ospina de Nicholls, aims to establish a cooperative relationship between the two countries' cooperation agencies in the context of South-South cooperation.
It provides, among other things, for the implementation of academic, cultural, scientific, and technical cooperation initiatives, and the promotion of exchange of experiences, expertise, and know-how in the priority areas identified by both parties.
