The agreements were signed by the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, and his Rwandan counterpart, Dr. Vincent Biruta.

They include a memorandum of understanding, which aims to set up a Steering Committee for cooperation between the governments of the two countries.

The Committee will be in charge of monitoring and assessing the implementation of decisions and recommendations issued by the Mixed Commission for Moroccan-Rwandan Cooperation, as well as bilateral meetings between senior officials from the two countries.

The two Ministers also signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the area of sport, which defines the modalities of cooperation between the two countries in this field.

Shortly before the signing ceremony, Mr. Bourita and Dr. Vincent Biruta discussed the means to strengthen bilateral cooperation and partnership relations between Morocco and Rwanda in several areas.

The two Ministers noted, with satisfaction, the convergence of views of the two countries on issues of common interest, including peace and security in Africa, South-South cooperation, food security, sustainable development and reform of the African Union.
