Speaking to reporters following his talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, the Spanish top diplomat underlined that the two countries are advancing in the implementation of this declaration, welcoming in this regard the level of investments between the two countries.
Thanks to these investments, Morocco has become Spain's main market outside the European Union, he noted, adding that Spain remains Morocco's leading customer and supplier.
Regarding foreign investments, some 800 Spanish companies are established in Morocco, said Mr. Manuel Albares.
Commenting on cooperation in migration, Mr Manuel Albares welcomed the momentum experienced by relations in this area, recalling that this revival has resulted in the recording of a significant drop in the arrival of illegal migrants in the Canary Islands and the Iberian Peninsula thanks to the cooperation of the security forces of both countries.
"The relaunch of coordination on the Marhaba operation is a good example of the revitalization of relations based on transparency and mutual respect", he concluded.
