"The election of Morocco, an African country which has been committed for years to non-proliferation efforts, at the head of this great global event, is a good testimony of its constructive commitment to world peace", stressed Mr.Grossi

 "I am delighted as Director General to be able to count on the Moroccan presidency for the whole year in order to support the work of the IAEA. Well done Morocco and we are very grateful!" said Grossi.  

Morocco was officially elected, Monday in Vienna, as president of the 64th General Conference of the IAEA, the governing body of this UN body.  

The Kingdom have had access, for the first time and unanimously, to this prestigious position in the person of Morocco's Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, Mr the Ambassador Azzeddine Farhane.
