M. Simeón Oyono Esono Angue : "L'ouverture d’un consulat à Dakhla reflète l’engagement de la Guinée Équatoriale à soutenir l’intégrité territoriale du Maroc"
Dakhla, (MoFA) - The opening of a Consulate General of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in Dakhla reflects the country's commitment to supporting Morocco's territorial integrity, said Friday in Dakhla Equatorial Guinea's FM Simeón Oyono Esono Angue.

The opening of this consular representation demonstrates the political will of the Equatorial Guinea's government to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation with Morocco, Angue added at a joint press briefing with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, following the inauguration of this consular representation.

Equatorial Guinea's top diplomat also expressed his country's will to strengthen partnership relations through the implementation of the agreements previously signed with Morocco and the diversification of cooperation in other areas of common interest, such as agriculture.

For his part, Mr. Bourita highlighted the long-standing relations and deep friendship linking the two countries as well as Rabat and Malabo's commitment to further developing them in various areas of common interest.

"We agreed to work in line with the instructions of the two Heads of State to strengthen the economic dimension of our bilateral relations", he pointed out.

The Republic of Equatorial Guinea can benefit from the different sectors of activities carried out in Dakhla such as agriculture, processing of fishery products and tourism, Mr. Bourita noted.

A delegation of businessmen from Dakhla will soon travel to Malabo to present this experience to economic stakeholders and identify partnership opportunities, Morocco's FM added.

The Kingdom is following with great interest all the efforts made by the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, His Excellency Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, to diversify his country's economy, Mr. Bourita said, stressing Morocco's readiness to accompany these efforts so as to strengthen the Equatorial Guinea's stability and open up promising prospects for development.

He also stressed the importance of the training component, adding that Morocco is always willing to work with the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in this framework.

On this occasion, Simeón Oyono Esono Angue handed his Moroccan counterpart a message from the Equatorial Guinea President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo to His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
