The National Assembly of Sao Tome and Principe voices solidarity with Morocco
“It is with great sadness and with deep concern that we learned of the movement of “polisario” militias, since October 21, in the buffer zone of El Guergarat in the Moroccan Sahara, the acts of which cause an occasional blockage of the movement of people and goods in neighboring areas,” Das Neves points out in a statement.
In a context where all the countries of the world are confronted with the Covid-19 pandemic, "we consider this act as criminal, repugnant and condemnable which we do not agree with”, he said, while expressing on his behalf and on behalf of the people of Sao Tome and Principe solidarity with the Kingdom of Morocco. He also reiterated the position of his country in support of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.
Stressing that the Kingdom of Morocco and its people are unwavering supporters of tranquility and peace, he pointed out:"we believe that in the name of legality plausible solutions to the movement of people and goods will be found so as to be able to ensure the security of the population".
On this occasion, Mr. Das Neves expressed his wish to further strengthen friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries, in particular within the framework of parliamentary diplomacy.
