In a statement published on November 15, the Government of Malabo said it had followed the peaceful and harmless operation carried out by the Royal Armed Forces to restore order and ensure the free movement of goods and people.
The El Guergarat area, on the border with Mauritania, has known, as the statement recalls, weeks of blockade by the polisario militias.
The Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea took this opportunity to urge MINURSO and the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, to increase their efforts to achieve a peaceful and final solution that promotes security and stability in the region.
It's worth noting that a large number of Arab and African countries as well as regional organizations have expressed their support and solidarity following the operation carried out by the Moroccan army in order to restore civil and commercial traffic in El Guergarat.
