Opening in Nouakchott of the 49th Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC with Morocco’s participation
Morocco is represented at this session by a delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr Nasser Bourita. The event is set to takle moderation as the basis of security and stability.
The delegation also includes Moroccan Ambassador to Mauritania, Mr. Hamid Chabar, Morocco's Deputy Permanent Delegate to the OIC, Mr. Othman Rehhou, in addition a number of officials from the Moroccan foreign ministry.
These are Mr. Fouad Akhrif, Director of Mashrek, Gulf and Arab and Islamic Organizations at the ministry, and Mr. Abdelali Al-Jahed and Mr. El Hassan Badri, respectively Head of the Arab and Islamic Organizations Division and Head of the OIC Division at the same institution.
The two-day meeting, which will be attended by the Director of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acsharif Agency, Mr. Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, will discuss a wide range of issues, including the Palestinian cause.
The meeting will also discuss developments in Afghanistan and the Sahel region, as well as minorities and Muslim communities in non-OIC countries. The meeting will also focus on ongoing efforts to combat extremism and terrorism, as well as the phenomenon of Islamophobia.
