Resumption of inter-Libyan dialogue in Bouznika
Speaking at the opening of this session, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, stressed that the positive dynamic observed recently in the Libyan dialogue had started in Bouznika and have had positive results. "This dynamic must continue in order to bring back Libya’s stability as well as to restore the normal life and well-being of Libyan citizens ", declared Mr. Bourita.
The minister reaffirmed that Morocco had no initiative on this issue and was only seeking to facilitate the dialogue between the Libyan parties and help them sit at the same table.
“The High Council of State and the House of Representatives have the territorial and public legitimacy which makes them key players in the search for a solution to the crisis. "
The representative of the High Council of State, Mr. Ibrahim Sahad, expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom of Morocco for the organization of this new round of negotiations, declaring that: "The political agreement which was concluded in Morocco constitutes the reference of the Libyan political process”.
"We hope to achieve the unification and stability of Libya," added Aicha Almahdi Shalabi, member of the Libyan House of Representatives.
The session ended with the reading of the final declaration containing the points agreed to by both parties.
