"The government of the Federal Republic of Somalia stands alongside the brotherly Kingdom of Morocco in all the measures it undertakes to protect its security and sovereignty over its territories at the El Guergarat border post between the Morocco and Mauritania”, the Ministry said.

The ministry also called for protecting the safety of citizens and the fluidity of road and commercial traffic.

Mogadishu's position adds to the momentum of solidarity and support that continues for Morocco's intervention to end the obstruction of civil and commercial traffic at the El border post of El Guergarat, a vital passage for trade flows between the Kingdom and its continent.

Several Arab and African countries, but also regional organizations, have thus expressed their firm and unequivocal support for the Kingdom's "legitimate" intervention to restore the status quo in this buffer zone.

In their reactions, they also vigorously condemned the illegal and provocative misadventures of the Polisario separatists.
