
In a joint press release issued following his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Mr. Nasser Bourita, Dias Monteiro lauded the leadership and remarkable contribution of HM the King to the international community's efforts to promote peace, stability, and development on the African continent.
On this occasion, the two ministers commended the momentum initiated by the Atlantic African States Process, aimed at making the Atlantic African space an area of co-emergence and stability, as well as a geostrategic framework offering significant opportunities for synergy and cooperation between member countries in key strategic areas such as the environment, food security, health, energy, logistical interconnection, resource pooling, and experience exchange.
Dias Monteiro also hailed the Sovereign’s Initiative to facilitate Sahel countries' access to the Atlantic Ocean and emphasized the strategic importance of this initiative, which is part of Morocco's active solidarity with its African brother countries.
Furthermore, the two ministers praised the progress of the African Atlantic Gas Pipeline project, a symbol of South-South cooperation, which is currently in the startup phase of its implementation.
