MFA Nasser Bourita Holds Talks with His Gambian Counterpart
In a statement to the press following talks with MFA Nasser Bourita, Dr. Tangara reiterated his country's support for Morocco's territorial integrity and the autonomy plan proposed by the Kingdom as the only solution to reach a final solution to the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara.
"The Gambia supports the efforts of the UN to reach a realistic, practical, and sustainable political solution to this artificial conflict," he added, noting that the opening of a consulate of his country in Dakhla reflects his country's constant position on the Moroccan Sahara issue.
Regarding bilateral relations, Gambia's top diplomat said that Banjul and Rabat are working together to ensure that the joint Morocco-Gambia commission "will be held shortly to strengthen very dense bilateral relations."
Furthermore, Mr. Tangara stated that his country's private sector is actively present at the U.S.-Africa Business Summit, as the Gambia wishes to strengthen its economic cooperation with Morocco, which is the gateway to Africa, Europe, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
