- In light of its Chairmanship of Al-Quds Committee, Morocco Sees Two-State Solution as Cornerstone to Regional Security & Stability- Morocco's FM

"Morocco’s approach in support of the Palestinian cause and people is based both on adherence to diplomatic and political efforts and initiatives aimed at establishing peace in the Middle East, and on daily action in the service of the Palestinians through field projects targeting families and children in particular," he stressed at a press briefing on the sidelines of the Fifth Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, co-organized by Morocco and the Netherlands.
In this respect, he highlighted the sustained actions deployed by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency to strengthen the resilience of the people of Gaza through projects covering various aspects of their daily lives, including food, medical care and schooling.
Dubbed "Sustaining Momentum for the Peace Process: Lessons Learned, Success Stories and Steps Forward," the meeting comes in the wake of the Kingdom's ongoing commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, to the Palestinian issue and peace in the Middle East, Bourita said.
It also illustrates the constant effort that Morocco has been making for decades towards a lasting and comprehensive solution to this conflict, based on its conviction that no settlement can be reached without the establishment of a Palestinian State living side by side with the State of Israel within the framework of the Two-State solution, he added.
The holding of this meeting in Morocco testifies to the confidence the Kingdom enjoys with the various parties to the conflict, and to its place as a credible actor with influential parties, as evidenced by the participation of delegations from over 50 countries and international and regional organizations committed to the two-state solution, he said.
Bourita pointed out that this meeting comes at a delicate time marked by continuing Israeli aggression in the Palestinian territories, “a dangerous, inadmissible situation that runs counter to all laws and values,” stressing that peace in the region must prevail.
The meeting is being held as a prelude to the High-Level Conference, co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia, for the implementation of the Two-State solution, scheduled to take place at the UN headquarters in New York in June 2025, the minister added, noting that the Rabat meeting will contribute to enriching the work of this conference.
He also emphasized the urgent need, now more than ever, to protect the recognized international benchmarks, from the General Assembly resolutions of the 1940s to the Madrid meetings and the Oslo Accords, with the aim of achieving a settlement of the Palestinian question, affirming that it is a matter of contributing to the preservation and consolidation of these benchmarks.
After stressing the importance of supporting Palestinian institutions, Bourita recalled the Kingdom of Morocco's constant position in support of the Palestinian National Authority under the leadership of President Mahmoud Abbas. He stressed that His Majesty the King has always said that the Palestinian Authority remains the sole and legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, as well as the most credible partner for achieving peace, which is why it is necessary to explore ways of supporting it.
The minister also stressed the imperative of addressing economic aspects as a prerequisite for the two-state solution, pointing out that humanitarian aid and economic support can hardly serve as an alternative to the establishment of the Palestinian State.
This meeting, he recalled, reflects the Kingdom's constant commitment to the Palestinian cause, and the unequivocal position of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who considers the Palestinian issue to be a national cause.
Bourita said that the holding of this meeting at this delicate juncture in the region represents an investment in peace, while at the same time taking an optimistic view, and consolidating the mobilization of the international community for the implementation of the two-state solution as the only solution capable of fostering peace and dignity, enshrining the legitimate rights of the Palestinians and guaranteeing security and stability for the State of Israel.
Ultimately, he concluded, the aim is to bring together the benchmarks relating to the two-state solution in a single document compiling the measures already taken within this framework.
