Mr. Nasser Bourita: “China, Balancing Factor in Dealing with Arab Issues and Reliable Partner”
Speaking by video conference before the ninth session of the ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, held on Monday, Mr. Bourita said that China represents a balancing factor in maintaining the peace process as a strategic choice to achieve a just, lasting and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict that would enable the Palestinian people to recover their legitimate rights and establish an independent, viable and sovereign State with Al-Quds East as its capital, and that would guarantee all the peoples of the region to live in security, stability, and harmony.
Mr. Bourita noted that Morocco also considers China as "a reliable partner", recalling in this context the strong strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the People's Republic of China.
The Chinese-Moroccan cooperation has experienced strong growth since the historic visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to Beijing in May 2016, during which the "global strategic partnership" between the two countries was signed, the Minister stressed.
He recalled, in this context, the signing in 2017 of a memorandum of understanding on the accession of Morocco to the Chinese initiative "One Belt, One Road", an initiative that has led to tangible results in cooperation relations between the two countries and which has enabled the Kingdom to rank second in terms of attracting Chinese investments in Africa with more than 80 major projects in various parts of the country.
