Opening of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in The Gambia
The ceremony was also attended by Gambian officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps and consuls of European and African countries accredited in Banjul, members of the Moroccan delegation taking part in the 15th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), members of the Moroccan community in the Gambia, and the Chargé d'Affaires of the Moroccan Embassy in this country, Mr. Ahmed Belhaj.
The inauguration of the Kingdom of Morocco's diplomatic representation in Banjul took place on the sidelines of the 15th Islamic Summit Conference, which opened on Saturday at the “Dauda Kairaba Diawara” International Conference Center, in the presence of the leaders and heads of government of the Organization's countries.
Relations between Morocco and the Gambia have witnessed a strong development thanks to the existing links between His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President Adama Barrow.
on this occasion, the head of Gambian diplomacy expressed his delight at attending, alongside his Moroccan peer, the inauguration of the Moroccan Embassy, stressing that the opening of this diplomatic representation will enable Gambians to become more familiar with the Kingdom.
The Minister recalled that the Gambia was the first country to open a consulate general in Dakhla, welcoming the excellent relations between the two countries.
