The consultative meeting between the Libyan House of Representatives and the Libyan High Council of State kicked off on Wednesday in Bouznika, in the context of the Inter-Libyan Dialogue.
The meeting is part of efforts to give fresh impetus to the political process in Libya, leading to presidential and parliamentary elections through agreement on a roadmap leading to the formation of a unity government.
The Libyan House of Representatives and High Council of State had succeeded in drawing up consensual electoral laws through the 6+6 Commission, cited by the UN Security Council in its latest resolution on Libya.
In December 2015, Morocco's city of Skhirat hosted a series of rounds of inter-Libyan dialogue, culminating in the “Skhirat Agreement”, a crucial step towards resolving the Libyan crisis.
