Morocco plays a leading role in the Atlantic area under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, the US official told the press after her meeting with Mr. Bourita.

In this regard, she recalled the holding of the ministerial meeting of the Atlantic African States in June in Rabat.

"We are in Morocco for consultations in order to learn from the Moroccan experience in terms of leadership in the Atlantic," she added.

"We are working with Morocco to make the Atlantic a zone of opportunity and to come together as an Atlantic community for the Atlantic," the U.S. official continued.

She also called for collaboration among the Atlantic community through consultations between countries on both sides of the Atlantic.
