In a Joint Statement signed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Murat Nurtleu, during his first official visit to the Kingdom, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, the two parties welcomed the excellence of bilateral relations and their positive trajectory under the High Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, and His Excellency President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

They also reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening these relations and elevating them in several areas.

On the political front, the two sides agreed to establish a mechanism for regular political consultations and dialogue between the two Foreign Ministers.

On the economic level, the two countries emphasized the importance of leveraging their strategic geographical positions in Africa and Central Asia in order to boost trade between the two regions.

To this end, they agreed to create a Joint Commission between the two governments, to promote the implementation of a Morocco-Kazakhstan Business Council and to enhance logistical connectivity.

Morocco and Kazakhstan also reiterated their commitment to contributing to global food security, paving the way for strengthened bilateral cooperation. Given Kazakhstan’s status as a major global wheat producer and exporter, both countries discussed the possibility of setting up a logistics hub in Morocco to facilitate the export of Kazakh wheat to African markets.

Once again, Morocco confirms its key role in supporting the African continent through active South-South and triangular cooperation, in line with the enlightened Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

The two ministers also emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation to include other areas of mutual interest, promoting existing trade and investment opportunities, and fostering the exchange of expertise in strategic sectors such as technological innovation, energy transition, transport, and logistics.

The two countries also agreed to bolster cooperation in the fields of security and defense, capitalizing on their proven and recognized expertise and experience in these areas, and joining forces to combat the scourges that threaten regional and international peace and security, notably terrorism, violent extremism, transnational organized crime and cybercrime.

In this respect, the Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs congratulated Morocco on hosting the 93rd Interpol General Assembly in Marrakech on November 24-27, 2025.

On the religious front, the two ministers stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Islamic institutions of the two countries, which are both members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The two officials also stressed the importance of promoting cultural and civilizational links between the two countries, both of which have a rich history and share cultural and religious similarities.

At the multilateral level, the two ministers renewed their commitment to supporting international institutions and initiatives aimed at tackling global challenges such as food security, health and climate change.

They reaffirmed the importance of multilateralism, and agreed to strengthen coordination within multilateral bodies.
