Burkina Faso to Open a General Consulate in Dakhla
Under the presidency of H.E.M Roch Marc Christian KAROBE, President of Burkina Faso, the Council took place in Ouagadougou on the February 5th, 2020, and adopted a decree on the opening of a General Consulate in Dakhla.
“The adoption of this decree enables the rollout of the Burkinabe diplomatic administration in Dakhla for an enhanced protection of the interests of Burkina Faso and its citizens in the region of Dakhla”, as stated in the report on the adoption of above-mentioned decree.
The decision to open this African diplomatic representation in our southern provinces, following the opening of ones of the Union of the Comoros, Gambia, Republic of Guinea, Gabon, Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, and the Central African Republic, testifies to the renewed consolidation, by our African brothers, of the recognition of the Moroccan sovereignty on its southern provinces. It confirms, at the same time, an undisputable reality: Morocco is in its Sahara and so it will remain.
In fact, the opening of these diplomatic representations in the southern provinces will reinforce the appeal of this region as the Kingdom’s gateway to the African continent in line with the vision of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him.
