The Republic of Malawi Inaugurates Embassy in Rabat
On this occasion, Tembo expressed her country's gratitude to Morocco for its collaboration in inaugurating Malawi's diplomatic representation, praising the two countries' excellent bilateral and multilateral relations.
The inauguration of Malawi's embassy in Morocco marks a new step in strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries. It also provides an opportunity to benefit from Morocco's successful experience in various fields, she told the press.
Malawi's top diplomat further highlighted the convergence of views on common interests and welcomed Morocco's ongoing commitment to support Malawi in several areas. She commended the steady pace of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
In this context, Tembo recalled the signing of the bilateral 2022-2024 cooperation roadmap, reflecting Morocco and Malawi's ambition to consolidate their relations based on mutual respect, strong partnership, and active solidarity, especially in education and training, agriculture, trade, technical cooperation, security, economic promotion and investment, and the exchange of official visits.
For his part, Bourita affirmed that the inauguration of the Republic of Malawi's embassy in Rabat reflects the "maturity" of the bilateral relations between the Kingdom and Malawi, as well as the level of their cooperation in various fields.
The inauguration of this diplomatic representation aligns with the common ambition of both countries to work together for their development and that of the continent, said Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates
He further noted that Malawi clearly expresses its openness and ambition to promote investment opportunities, taking advantage of the significant economic potential on both sides.
During her official visit from December 17 to 21 to inaugurate her country's embassy and operationalize the consulate in Laâyoune, the Malawian Foreign Minister will travel to the southern provinces, providing an opportunity to observe the economic and social progress and the political and democratic dynamics in the region.
This visit will also be an occasion to explore the advancements in the implementation of the New Development Model for the southern provinces, launched in 2015 by HM King Mohammed VI.
The Republic of Malawi had inaugurated its consulate general in Laâyoune on July 29, 2021.
